Facial Toning Exercises: Be Prepared To Look Silly or Look Your Age!
As we age our character becomes more defined, which shows prominently on our faces. Showing character is not a bad thing, but too much of a good thing is not so good, and most women would prefer to avoid showing too much of their past on their face. Stress showing physique, sagging facial skin, wrinkles around the eyes, on the forehead, and around your lips are not a good look by anyone’s standards.
You may be doing all the right things: eating a healthy diet, exercising and living a generally healthy lifestyle to keep your body healthy and in shape. However, all these efforts will often not help prevent sagging skin around your face – especially in your 40s and beyond – your face skin may refuse to respond to even the healthiest lifestyle.
Dry skin, sun damaged skin and smoking are all causes of premature sagging, and sometimes these factors are beyond a person’s control. But short of going under the knife there’s no way to avoid it. While a surgical facelift and laser facial rejuvenation are effective ways to deal with a problem, most of us (myself included) are searching for less drastic solutions, preferably not involving medical scalpels.
That’s where facial exercises and facial yoga come in. Forget the surgery, botox and expensive creams. Facial exercises are cheap and painless – natural facelift through exercise, if you will – , although you will attract a lot of strange looks if you do them in public. With surgery, you lose your facial expressions. Creams are great, but they can’t lift sagging jowls and other facial muscles – to give you an elegant, youthful face and neck.
I love yoga, but I never knew that it can help me get reduce those deep lines on my face. However, I’m definitely eager to try it – I can even do it while blogging or surfing the net – no scalpel or painkillers required – how cool is that!
Why are these facial toning exercises effective? As with other muscles, face muscles need to be kept in shape. We are all well aware of the benefits of exercise, but exercise should not stop at he neckline. The facial muscles need to be toned and firm. Anyone who works on building muscle strength reduces the chances of muscle atrophy and slack muscles – the common denominator of an aging body.
The facial exercises train the muscles to help lift the skin and drooping and sagging areas are lifted and firmed, minimizing and softening lines and wrinkles.

Exercising your face muscles tightens, tones and, according to practitioners, combats aging.
Face yoga has already won devotees among the forever-young-looking celebrity crowd, with Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Aniston said to be big fans. It’s the brainchild of New York yoga teacher Annelise Hagen, who teaches it at the swanky New York Health & Racquet Club.

Face Yoga works but you need to do it everyday.
My fear with these exercises is that, while they may tone or uplift the face, they seem as though in the process they would add wrinkles by making all these extreme expressions.
