What I’m going to present to you in this article are some shockingly simple but incredibly effective acne home remedies – acne treatments that are not advertised or talked about in the media, and yet these methods can help you get healthy and glowing skin without medications, antibiotics or creams.

Or, you may be looking for an easy solution, like “take 400 mg of vitamin E once per day”, rub orange peel into your skin, etc. You can find detailed solutions like that on many websites and blogs. Here are some examples:

a) Vitamins: Add niacin (100 mg; three times per day), and vitamin A to a diet. 400 mg of vitamin E taken once per day also works wonders. You may also take 50mg of therapeutic zinc in tablet or capsule form (three times per day).

b) Fenugreek: A paste can be created from the leaves of this vegetable, which is then applied to the face before you retire each night. In the morning, the paste should be washed off using warm water.

c) Orange Peel: Pound orange peels and combine with water, apply to affected areas.

d) Lemon: Apply lemon juice to pimples.

e) Garlic: Rub raw garlic on problem areas several times a day. Eat three seeds of raw garlic once daily for a month.

f) Coriander and Mint Juice: Mix one teaspoon of coriander juice, combined with a pinch of turmeric powder. Every night, after thoroughly washing the face, apply the juice for an effective home remedy. Mint juice may also replace the coriander….

Natural, unprocessed, plant-based diet is best for both your skin and the rest of your body.

The key appears to be that there is nothing (or at least as close to nothing as you can get ;-) ) refined or processed in your diet, but instead it should be high in fresh vegetables, fruits, greens, fiber and low in sugar. Simple version (fewer ingredients):

3 stalks of celery or 1 head of lettuce (e.g. romaine)
5-6 leaves of kale (or other greens, e.g., 1 cup of spinach)
1-2 apples or pears
1 lemon (not peeled)

Optional ingredients ” choose what you like or have in your kitchen:

1 cucumber
1/4 to 1/2 ripe papaya (1/2 makes the juice sweeter)
1 handful of cilantro or parsley (or both for deeper green juice)
1 cup of fennel (stalk can be used too)

If you like, throw in some beets or carrots too, or add a small piece of garlic or ginger.

Note: It is best to drink your juice on an empty stomach.

Do green smoothies remove acne directly? Of course, not.

You are NOT going to apply them to your face or other affected areas of your body, I promise!

You are going to apply them internally, i.e. you will be drinking them two or three times per day, every day.

The Green Smoothie is essentially a blended salad made with fruits and leafy greens, with some optional water, blended at high speeds to smooth consistency. Generally, hard or savory vegetables such as carrots or tomatoes are avoided. Only fruits and leafy greens are included.

Great Ingredients For Your Green Smoothies

GREENS: kale, bok choy, chard, spinach, parsley, romaine lettuce, iceberg lettuce, mint, basil, cilantro, or other.

FRUITS: bananas, pears, apples, mango, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, peaches, kiwi, pineapple, melon, papaya, watermelon, grapes, or other.

VEGGIES: cucumber, celery, avocado (small amount only).

Some fruit and green combinations you may want to try:

  • Spinach with bananas and strawberries
  • Spinach with apples, bananas, and some lemon or lime juice
  • Spinach, bananas, peaches, mango
  • Romaine lettuce with bananas
  • Romaine lettuce with cucumber and bananas
  • Romaine and celery with blueberries
  • Parsley and ripe pears
  • Parsley, celery, apple and pears

Add 1-2 cups of water and blend until smooth. Adjust proportions to your liking. Try to experiment with different greens and fruits. Fruits are added for sweetness, so make sure they are really RIPE, especially bananas. Beautifully ripened bananas look like this:

When you are just starting out with the green smoothies, you may want to add just a little bit of mild tasting greens (such as spinach), to let your taste buds get used to the taste. Start adding more greens of various kinds (many of them are stronger tasting) later on.

•1 head of spinach
•1 apple
•1 banana
•1-2 cups of water

•1/2 head of spinach
•1/4 cup of raspberries
•2 cups of water
•1/2 cup of strawberries

•1 small pineapple, peeled, cored, and chopped
•1 large mango, peeled, cored, and chopped
•½ head romaine lettuce
•a tiny piece of fresh ginger
You may want to add some water.

•2 leaves kale (kale is rather strong tasting, so you may want to start with less)
•2 bananas
•1 cup of strawberries or blueberries or raspberries
•1 cup of water

•5 pieces of green leaf lettuce
•1 ripe mango
•1 apple
•1 cup of water

Salads, soups, vegetable stews, steamed veggies, etc. Eat as much as these as you desire whenever you are hungry.

The goal is to fill you up, so that you don’t crave all the unhealthy stuff that causes your acne problems.
