You might not know, but the skin is essentially an organ of the body, the biggest of all. Many people notice that they need to eat right to be certain their heart stays healthy, but infrequently they forget about the skin. Aside from the general guidance of using natural skin care products, these are more skin care tips you need to use each day on your skin to help keep it looking healthy and clear all the time.

What woman doesn’t like to look fantastic and below her age, and having beautiful skin is a big part of that. Our skin is the largest organ of our body. Eating the healthy diet is essential if we want to keep our skin beautiful. That takes care of our skin from the inside. The other component is taking care of our skin from the outside.

Aside from the general guidance of using natural skin care products, these are more skin care tips you need to use each day on your skin to help keep it looking healthy and clear all the time.

As you'll have heard from your dermatologist, damp skin is skin that is protected. Thanks to the sheer volume of moisturising products that are sold, you need to sort through a lot of them to find one that will work for you. Folks that select certain skin care lotions may have dry skin, or oily skin, which will be a determining aspect. When choosing a skin care product, ensure that it is made of natural substances opposed to powerful chemicals.

Pure oils such as avocado oil or jojoba oil are generally a good choice. Another natural product, aloe vera, is utilized in many moisturizers. If you find a great facial product that may help your skin dramatically, jot it down so you do not forget what it is when you want it later on. Main line researchers and alternative health professionals are now getting more in harmony about the dangers of sugar in the diet.

High fructose corn syrup is one of the sugar related products that should be removed from the diet to avoid getting indicators of early aging, for example wrinkles. The skin shows what is happening in the body since all parts are interlinked, and certain signs can show stuff like diabetes or high blood pressure. To reduce sugar from your diet everybody knows that puddings and sweets must be avoided, but most do not know of all of the different products that have sugar added. If you want something sweet, use natural products,eg maple syrup or honey, because aspartame and other artificial sweeteners aren't any better.

The majority of people know that the food that they eat, basically their diet, can have a significant impact on their skin. According to several nutrition experts, your digestion has a ton to do with how your skin looks. To make sure that your skin is as fit as possible eat tons of nutritious food including whole grains, vegetables and fruit.

Each day, ensure you eat the right piece of healthy fats to remain healthy. Supplemental vitamins, for example omega-3, can provide you with the natural fats that you will need. Whether you use flaxseeds for breakfast, or eat avocados with the sandwich, you'll be getting your daily supply of omega-3. Eating necessary vitamins and minerals everyday will not only help you to stay healthy, but will help your skin maintain its overall good appearance.

Keeping your skin healthy isn’t actually that tough, nonetheless it demands that you stay sharp. From your daily exercise, to the food that you eat, all of it matters and plays a large role in regard to how your skin looks and feels. By paying attention to the tips in this article, and actually using them, your skin will benefit from your efforts.

Natural Factory offers a wide selection of natural natural body care products which ranges from pure aromatherapy fancy oils to organic soap. For more natural skin-care products, visit http://www.OurNaturalFactory.com

Well, it's true...for many people. Due to its natural acidic qualities and disinfectant properties, lemon juice is generally considered a highly effective treatment for mild to moderate acne.

Applying lemon juice topically can significantly improve your skin quality very quickly. In addition to that, drinking lemon water is another way to treat your acne from within. If you do both, you may really see dramatic results very quickly, sometimes even within 24 hours your skin will begin to look better.

As with most acne treatments, whether prescription medication, a home-made remedy, or over the counter, some people find that it works great, while others see no improvement. The good news is that it’s inexpensive and perfectly safe, so if it doesn’t work, you can use the rest of the juice to make lemonade to ease your disappointment.

Lemon Juice for Acne

Lemon juice is, a citric acid and very rich in vitamin C, which has many benefits for all skin types. The citric acid acts to exfoliate the skin, an important step in treating acne. It’s also an astringent, thus helping to dry the zits and blackheads.

** Use fresh lemon juice because the bottled form is made from concentrate and is not as fresh.

** Drinking lemon juice for acne. Squeeze the juice of one lemon in to a glass and dilute with water to taste – this you can experiment with as you go along. Drink first thing in the morning, throughout your day and/or before going to bed. A beneficial side-effect of this lemon juice and acne tip is that it also works as a great internal cleanser and has been found to detox the liver.

** Applying lemon juice to acne affected skin. To apply to your skin, clean your face first. Apply a sliced piece of lemon directly to the affected acne areas, or use cotton wool or cotton bud to prevent the spread of pimples to other areas. If you feel a burning sensation, you can dilute the lemon juice with a little water.

Leave on the face for about an hour and then rinse with warm water, patting dry (not rubbing) with a clean towel. You should see some improvements to your skin in about a month. If you combine the lemon juice treatment along with a good cleanser, you should see even better results.

** You may feel a slight burning sensation, but don’t be alarmed. Stinging means the juice is working to slows down inflammatory processes. If your skin is very sensitive, try diluting the juice with water.

Baking soda for acne: baking soda mask can help clear your skin

Lemon Juice for Acne Scars

Lemon juice has been known as a natural exfoliate for decades, however it’s just now becoming more recognized as a product to treat scars.

The reason for this is because the lemons juice is an alpha hydroxy acid that exfoliates by removing the upper, damaged, layers of skin so the new layers of fresh, healthier skin can come up. Additionally, the juice in lemons will help smooth a scar out and break up the tough fibroblasts that scars are made up of.

Lemon juice also has bleaching properties that can help hyper-pigmented and discolored skin caused by ultraviolet light exposure or red spots where acne pimples used to be.

Lemon juice for acne and acne scars: it's a safe natural remedy that is highly effective

Make it a habit to drink lemon juice for acne throughout the day. Especially, if you are used to drinking lots of soda (soft drinks) all day, replacing it with lemon juice with water will do wonders for your skin and body.

Will this work for you? I guess you don’t know until you try it.

Because you’re worth it!

Baking soda can be used in a number of different ways – it’s a godsend for cooking and cleaning your home naturally. But how about baking soda for acne? Does baking soda help acne? And is baking soda good for acne?

Does baking soda help acne?

Baking soda is short for Sodium bicarbonate. It is a bicarbonate of soda and is a white powder made up of tiny crystals. Baking soda, as the name suggests is used in baking to help make cakes lighter but it is NOT the same as baking powder and if buying specifically for your skin you need to be sure to get the right product. It has a slightly alkaline nature and is a natural exfoliant with fine micro-crystalline particles. Using baking soda on your skin sheds off trapped dead skin cells, dirt and debris. This encourages faster cell turnover.

This is so easy to make and can work wonders if your skin likes it.

(Remember, not every cause of acne is the same, so you may have to try different remedies and masks until you find the ones that work for you.)

All you need are two ingredients. Baking Soda (NOT baking powder) and water.

Our face prefers a mildly acidic climate, so using baking soda too often might upset the pH balance of the skin. You can easily counter its alkalinity by incorporating some lemon juice for acne. This combination is more effective for frequent baking soda acne treatments. Baking soda will help treat any rashes that you have on your skin by soothing the inflamed area.

Baking soda paste for acne

Does baking soda work for acne?

Mix baking soda with water to make a paste. All you need to do is to pour about a tablespoon worth of bicarb into your palm, put your other hand under running water, then drip some water into the bicarb and mix it around to form a pastey like solution.

This paste should be very similar in consistency to toothpaste, as it should be soft enough that it can easily be rubbed over the skin. You should also make sure that your face is wet before applying the baking soda, as this will ensure that the paste is able to be spread easily.

Rub the paste onto your skin gently in a circular motion and leave it on for at least one minute and then rinse it off with water.

If your skin likes it, and your acne improves, then you may try it several times a week to help clear your acne.

Using baking soda as paste will clean out your pores and is great for eliminating dead skin. In addition, the bacteria that causes acne cannot survive once the baking soda has been applied, which is why it is such an effective solution to this problem.

Spot treatment for acne and pimples

As a spot treatment, you can use baking soda to help you get rid of pimples quickly – apply the paste in the same way that toothpaste on pimples.

If you are using this as a spot treatment for the first time, try it at night so that you can rinse it off if you experience any discomfort or irritation. If this works without any problem, next time leave it on for the night but let it dry before you actually settle down for the night to avoid letting it dry onto your pillowcase.

Video Demonstration of Making a Baking Soda Exfoliator

Baking Soda Mask to Fight Acne

The mask should be a little thicker than the paste. Leave the mask on your face for a few minutes, then rinse with water. You only need to use this mask once a week, as its effects should last at lease that long.

Mix a little together in your hands after washing your face with a mild cleanser and apply gently to your skin. Once you’ve coated your face with the baking soda and water mix, let it sit while you do other things around the house, or relax and read a book.

Rinse the baking soda film off your face and feel how soft and clear it feels. If your skin enjoys this recipe, and your acne improves, then you may try it several times a week to help clear your acne.

Baking soda for acne scars

You can also use baking soda for acne scars. Baking soda and lemon juice for acne will help shrink live acne, diminish potential and old acne scars. Squeeze half a lemon and and stir in a teaspoon of baking soda into the juice. The solution should fizz and sting a little when applying onto your face.

Baking soda for acne: baking soda mask can help clear your skin

Saggy, wrinkled skin it's not a good look by anyone's standards. However, not everyone is willing to go for a drastic solution involving a scalpel and lots of painkillers. That's where facial exercises and facial yoga come in. I've been a fan and practitioner of yoga for many years (although not so much recently :-(), but I never knew that yoga can help me get reduce those deep lines on my face. I just watched a cool video (see it at the end of this post), and I'm definitely eager to try it - I can even do it while blogging or surfing the net - no scalpel or painkillers required - how cool is that!
Why are these facial toning exercises effective? As with other muscles, face muscles need to be kept in shape. We are all well aware of the benefits of exercise, but exercise should not stop at he neckline. The facial muscles need to be toned and firm. Anyone who works on building muscle strength reduces the chances of muscle atrophy and slack muscles – the common denominator of an aging body.

// ]]>

As we age our character becomes more defined, which shows prominently on our faces. Showing character is not a bad thing, but too much of a good thing is not so good, and most women would prefer to avoid showing too much of their past on their face. Stress showing physique, sagging facial skin, wrinkles around the eyes, on the forehead, and around your lips are not a good look by anyone’s standards.

You may be doing all the right things: eating a healthy diet, exercising and living a generally healthy lifestyle to keep your body healthy and in shape. However, all these efforts will often not help prevent sagging skin around your face – especially in your 40s and beyond – your face skin may refuse to respond to even the healthiest lifestyle.

Dry skin, sun damaged skin and smoking are all causes of premature sagging, and sometimes these factors are beyond a person’s control. But short of going under the knife there’s no way to avoid it. While a surgical facelift and laser facial rejuvenation are effective ways to deal with a problem, most of us (myself included) are searching for less drastic solutions, preferably not involving medical scalpels.

That’s where facial exercises and facial yoga come in. Forget the surgery, botox and expensive creams. Facial exercises are cheap and painless – natural facelift through exercise, if you will – , although you will attract a lot of strange looks if you do them in public. With surgery, you lose your facial expressions. Creams are great, but they can’t lift sagging jowls and other facial muscles – to give you an elegant, youthful face and neck.

I love yoga, but I never knew that it can help me get reduce those deep lines on my face. However, I’m definitely eager to try it – I can even do it while blogging or surfing the net – no scalpel or painkillers required – how cool is that!

The facial exercises train the muscles to help lift the skin and drooping and sagging areas are lifted and firmed, minimizing and softening lines and wrinkles.

Face Yoga: Your Anti Aging Secret Weapon

Exercising your face muscles tightens, tones and, according to practitioners, combats aging.

Face yoga has already won devotees among the forever-young-looking celebrity crowd, with Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Aniston said to be big fans. It’s the brainchild of New York yoga teacher Annelise Hagen, who teaches it at the swanky New York Health & Racquet Club.

If you are looking for natural dry skin home remedies, you may need to look no further than your kitchen or the produce section in the supermarket. Especially in the winter, dry skin becomes more of a problem for a lot of people. You can prepare a dry skin natural remedy simply by mixing common food ingredients and applying them to the affected areas. For example, ingredients that are frequently applied for extremely dry skin are honey, yogurt, olive oil, and oatmeal. Some herb teas are useful, too, as are a variety of other fruits and seeds.

Home Remedies and Tips for Dry Skin

Home Remedies for Dry Skin: Proper hydration is key

Hydration is essential. One of the leading causes of dry skin is dehydration. Drink lots of water and make sure you are eating a healthy diet rich in fresh raw fruits and vegetables – these foods help in hydration and nurturing the skin.

Be careful not to over-cleanse. Take fewer showers and spend less time in the shower. Long, hot showers dry up the skin.

Honey, a dry skin natural remedy, is a substance that is healing to the skin. When applied to the skin it is healing and moisturizing.

Avoid harsh, drying soaps. Never use antibacterial soap! Soap and body wash are drying to the skin. You can make an alternative to a bar of soap by tying oatmeal flour or in a cloth tea bag can be used instead of soap, or use Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps.

Avoid deodorant and antibacterial detergents. When you buy bath soap in the grocery store you are buying detergent. The ingredients aren’t much different than what you are using to wash your clothes, your dishes, or clean your house. You might want to experiment with several brands until you find one that works particularly well for you. A good rule of thumb is that your skin should feel soft and smooth after cleansing, never tight or dry.

After washing or bathing, gently pat or blot your skin dry with a towel to keep some moisture on the skin. Immediately moisturize your skin with an oil or cream to help trap water in the surface cells. The trick is finding moisturizers that are truly nontoxic.

“Moisturizers are great at keeping the skin hydrated and healthy looking, and reducing the signs of aging; however, compared to other beauty products, moisturizers often contain the most amount of synthetic chemicals and petroleum by-products, many of which are linked to serious health concerns. explains aesthetician Charmaine Leah, founder of the organic beauty products boutique Mint & Berry and Glamology, a popular blog about green cosmetics. “Seeing as moisturizers work by deeply penetrating skin, it’s smart to consider using green products, which contain fewer synthetic chemicals that may enter your bloodstream.”

“North Americans, in general, have a misconception that skin care and beauty require fancy products with lots of ingredients to work better. The reality is that a inexpensive bottle of sweet almond oil will likely work just as well as an expensive bottle of the latest big-brand moisturizer lotion to hydrate your skin, give it a healthy glow, and reduce the signs of aging.”

(Read more: Lotion versus oil)

Use oil as a moisturizer instead of commercial lotions (see the video below for explanation). We Americans are lotion lovers. But in Europe and other parts of the world, oil is actually the more popular option for hydrating dry skin. You want to mimic how your skin actually works and your skin produces oil. “Oils protect the skin’s lipid barrier and are great at preventing moisture from evaporating from the skin. Some people believe applying oil, especially to acne-prone skin, will clog pores, cause breakouts, or leave a greasy film. The truth is, most natural oils are easily absorbed, not greasy, and are noncomedogenic, that is, they have a low potential to clog pores, which makes oils perfect for all skin types.” Use good quality, organic cold-pressed oil, such as olive oil. Jojoba oil is another excellent choice for body moisturizing, as is sustainably harvested coconut oil.Be careful around your eyes to avoid irritation.

Remember, your skin is a living, breathing organ. Never put anything on your skin that has ingredients you would think twice about putting into your mouth!

Yogurt, especially the plain Greek variety, makes an excellent cleanser with a mild exfoliating action that will remove dry skin and leave you feeling refreshed and comfortable.

Avoid beauty-care products containing mineral oil. This is a processed petroleum product, and who wants to wear that?

Use a humidifier. Hot, dry indoor air can parch sensitive skin and worsen itching and flaking. Choose a humidifier that meets your budget and any special needs. And be sure to keep your humidifier clean to ward off bacteria and fungi.

Choose breathable fabrics. Natural fibers, such as cotton and silk, allow your skin to breathe. But wool, although it certainly qualifies as natural, can irritate even normal skin. When you wash your clothes, try to use detergents without dyes or perfumes, both of which can irritate your skin.

How can greens be good for clear skin?

Benefits of spinach are common knowledge. Spinach contains various nutrients and vitamin that can support skin healing process. The most useful vitamins of spinach are vitamin A, C, E, and K. They are really good for clearing up skin. The antioxidants contained in spinach will also clear up acne quickly. Spinach has an abundant amount of iron, which will be useful to prevent cancer, arthritis, and heart disease.

Spinach is an excellent source of these important nutrients:

Vitamin K, Vitamin A (great for clearing acne), Vitamin C, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B6
Manganese
Folate
Magnesium
Iron
Calcium
Potassium
Antioxidants
Protein (contains all essential Amino Acids)
Fiber

Just like other green vegetables that contain chlorophyll and carotene, spinach is a remarkable protector against various disorders, including skin problems.

Now, how can you clear up acne with spinach?

Consuming spinach and other leafy-greens and vegetables on a regular basis can help your body heal and clear up acne, and the good news is it’s easy to incorporate it into your every day diet, even if you are a very picky eater.

Here are some suggestions:

4. Green Salads for Acne Free Skin

The most obvious, although not the easiest solution is to make a spinach salad. However, for most of people, preparing and eating big salads on a regular basis is a major challenge. But don’t despair… there is a better way….

…introducing…

4. Green Smoothies for Acne Free Skin

Green smoothies are simply greens blended with some sweet fruits and some water. They are delicious, very filling and satisfying. They can help you get rid of cravings – so that you can avoid all these junk foods, processed foods, ice creams, chocolate, sweets, fatty foods, and other unhealthy foods that are causing your acne problems in the first place.

I recommend that you start with spinach smoothies, because spinach is probably the mildest tasting green to add to your smoothie – so it’s easiest to tolerate, if you are not used to consuming more rich-tasting greens, such as arugula (one of my favorites), kale, or collards.

Here are some great starter recipes for you to have fun with:

Spinach and Cantaloupe Melon Smoothie Recipe

1/2 cantaloupe melon

1 cup of spinach

Spinach-Tomato

Here is a savory recipe for a spinach-tomato smoothie:

4 ripe plum tomatoes

1 handful of spinach leaves

4 leaves of basil leaves

4. Green Juice for Acne Free Skin

You can drink spinach juice with ingredients as follow: 1/2 tomato, 1/4 cucumber, 1 carrot, 1 celery stalk, a handful of spinach, 1/2 Red Pepper, 1/2-Cup of Cabbage, and 1 green onion. Put all the ingredients on the juicer and you can drink this juice daily. It is effective for skin healing and will protect your skin from acne.

4. Green Mask for Acne Free Skin

Although I much prefer applying greens “internally”, spinach can also be applied externally to your skin. Just blend a few leaves with little water and apply it to your face as acne mask for 20 minutes. It will help your skin to remove dirt, oil, and inflammation. You will find that this treatment is really refreshing and rejuvenating.

That’s how you can clear up acne with spinach. Start drinking green smoothies and green juices regularly, and you’ll likely see an improvement very quickly.

Now, you already know that spinach is good for skin. This is the perfect time to clear your skin and all of your acne with spinach. Don’t forget to check out other foods that are beneficial for your skin.

I admit – I am totally hooked on green smoothies!

I never use exact recipes – I constantly experiment by adding different ingredients, depending on what sounds good to my body each day.

Although some smoothies taste more delicious than others, I haven’t been disappointed yet!

One caveat: Because of the high oxalic acid content of spinach, some experts recommend to keep your spinach intake down to once or twice a week. Also, if you have any health issues such as kidney stones, it’s best to avoid spinach altogether. If you have any questions or concerns, speak to your doctor or nutritionist before introducing any changes to your diet.

Now that you know how to make some basic spinach recipes, you can experiment with other variations on this theme. When you are ready, start incorporate other, stronger tasting greens into your smoothies.

Home remedies for acne can be truly effective and long-lasting. I’m talking here about the remedies that truly address the origin of your skin problems, and not just provide a temporary acne removal.

What I’m going to present to you in this article are some shockingly simple but incredibly effective acne home remedies – acne treatments that are not advertised or talked about in the media, and yet these methods can help you get healthy and glowing skin without medications, antibiotics or creams.

But first, I want to ask you to keep an open mind when reading this article, and to stick with me till the end. The methods that I present may not be exactly what you want to hear right now – especially if you are in the middle of a serious skin acne outbreak and you want a method that will help you get rid of acne FAST!

You may be looking for a miracle treatment or ointment to get rid of your skin problem, like, yesterday!

If that’s the case, I advise you to stop reading this as this is NOT what you will find in this article.

Or, you may be looking for an easy solution, like “take 400 mg of vitamin E once per day”, rub orange peel into your skin, etc. You can find detailed solutions like that on many websites and blogs. Here are some examples:

a) Vitamins: Add niacin (100 mg; three times per day), and vitamin A to a diet. 400 mg of vitamin E taken once per day also works wonders. You may also take 50mg of therapeutic zinc in tablet or capsule form (three times per day).

b) Fenugreek: A paste can be created from the leaves of this vegetable, which is then applied to the face before you retire each night. In the morning, the paste should be washed off using warm water.

c) Orange Peel: Pound orange peels and combine with water, apply to affected areas.

d) Lemon: Apply lemon juice to pimples.

e) Garlic: Rub raw garlic on problem areas several times a day. Eat three seeds of raw garlic once daily for a month.

f) Coriander and Mint Juice: Mix one teaspoon of coriander juice, combined with a pinch of turmeric powder. Every night, after thoroughly washing the face, apply the juice for an effective home remedy. Mint juice may also replace the coriander….

Saw palmetto (an herb derived from the dried, ripe berry of the American dwarf palm); 320 mg capsule. Or use Clearogen (www.clearogen.com). Both are used to balance hormones.

Zinc: 30 mg two or three times a day, use 30 mg for maintenance.

Essential fatty acid supplement or fish oil.

GLA (gamma-Linolenic acid, an omega-6 essential fatty acid found primarily in vegetables: 320 mg capsule.

Tea tree oil topically (an essential oil available from most health food stores).

Azelic acid (an anti-inflammatory): Use as directed.

However, when applying some these remedies ask yourself this question:

“Will these home acne remedies truly remove the underlying reason of my skin problems?“

Keep in mind that acne is NOT a normal condition but a warning signal of a serious inner imbalance.

Let’s make this clear: Acne is not a problem with your skin. Acne is an internal and systematic problem. It’s a symptom of a disorder that effects your whole body and manifests as acne. Since our bodies are designed to protect us against the skin infection such as acne, it is simply a big warning sign that something is WRONG inside your body. and that needs to be corrected. Failing to diagnose and fix this problem in a timely manner can result is far more severe and chronic symptoms and disorders (as I explain later) which can seriously danger your health and well-being. Source: Acne No More

Don’t believe those web sites that offer a fast remedy to acne. No magic pill or fix-it-all product exists.

That is why I want to offer you a radically different, unconventional, yet super-simple and long-lasting – if you make a commitment to stick with it long enough.

Acne Removal Secret Weapon # 1: Adopt Acne Free Lifestyle

Home Remedies for Acne

(1) Eat healthy, (2) exercise regularly, (3) don’t sleep on your face, (4) get enough sleep, (5) wash your hands regularly, (6) manage your stress, and (7) use your home remedy for acne on a consistent basis.

I honestly can’t say enough about eating healthy foods, exercising regularly, and getting enough sleep. There is a show in the United States called the Biggest Loser. The contestants on this show are extremely overweight. They get taken to a secluded place where they are forced to exercise regularly, eat healthy, and get enough sleep. Guess what happens? They lose tons of weight. Guess what else happens (even though the show is not about this)? Their skin starts looking a hundred times better. Their skin, especially the skin on their face, goes from looking very sickly to looking fresh and vibrant. Even if you don’t need to drop some weight, doing these simple things will help get your skin healthier (thus helping your acne problem). Exercising regularly might be one of the best natural remedies for acne available. Source: Home Remedies for Acne Guide

Eat healthy – easier said than done, right?!

And what does it mean, anyway?

It’s truly simple.

Natural, unprocessed, plant-based diet is best for both your skin and the rest of your body.

The key appears to be that there is nothing (or at least as close to nothing as you can get ) refined or processed in your diet, but instead it should be high in fresh vegetables, fruits, greens, fiber and low in sugar. Eat as much raw as you can, or just lightly cooked foods – such as steamed veggies, soups or stews.

Juicing and green smoothies can help.

Acne Removal Secret Weapon #2: Delicious Green Juice Cocktail

Most people agree that no other food is more enzyme-rich and nutrient-rich than freshly made vegetable juice. For our bodies, it is the most easily digestible form of nutrition available. That is why it is unfortunate that, when most people think of vegetable juice, they picture a bottle of V-8 or a can of tomato juice. However, vegetable juices can be really delicious and even the biggest skeptics can be converted, when they start to experience the health benefits.

If you feel you never have energy to do things, if you are feeling constantly hungry, if you are craving junk food, a glass of juice can help. Grab your juicer (if you don’t have one, then go and buy one, because you are worth it!), buy some fruits and vegetables (see the recipe below for a shopping list), make some fresh juice, and drink to your health! Do this twice daily for amazing results, daily for great results, three times a week for good results, or even just once a week for improvement!

Fresh juice has all nutrients that your body needs in a form that can be easily absorbed giving you instant energy boost! Its also great for your health. If you search the Internet, you can read thousands of stories about people who cured themselves of various ailments, lost weight and improved their well-being by drinking freshly made juices.

There are many recipes that you can find on the Internet or in books on the subject. Here is one example of a recipe for a Green Cocktail that you may want to try first:

Simple version (fewer ingredients):

3 stalks of celery or 1 head of lettuce (e.g. romaine)
5-6 leaves of kale (or other greens, e.g., 1 cup of spinach)
1-2 apples or pears
1 lemon (not peeled)

Optional ingredients ” choose what you like or have in your kitchen:

1 cucumber
1/4 to 1/2 ripe papaya (1/2 makes the juice sweeter)
1 handful of cilantro or parsley (or both for deeper green juice)
1 cup of fennel (stalk can be used too)

If you like, throw in some beets or carrots too, or add a small piece of garlic or ginger.

Note: It is best to drink your juice on an empty stomach.

Acne Removal Secret Weapon #3: Green Smoothies for Acne

Do green smoothies remove acne directly? Of course, not.

You are NOT going to apply them to your face or other affected areas of your body, I promise!

You are going to apply them internally, i.e. you will be drinking them two or three times per day, every day.

The Green Smoothie is essentially a blended salad made with fruits and leafy greens, with some optional water, blended at high speeds to smooth consistency. Generally, hard or savory vegetables such as carrots or tomatoes are avoided. Only fruits and leafy greens are included.

Great Ingredients For Your Green Smoothies

GREENS: kale, bok choy, chard, spinach, parsley, romaine lettuce, iceberg lettuce, mint, basil, cilantro, or other.

FRUITS: bananas, pears, apples, mango, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, peaches, kiwi, pineapple, melon, papaya, watermelon, grapes, or other.

VEGGIES: cucumber, celery, avocado (small amount only).

Some fruit and green combinations you may want to try:

Spinach with bananas and strawberries

Spinach with apples, bananas, and some lemon or lime juice

Spinach, bananas, peaches, mango

Romaine lettuce with bananas

Romaine lettuce with cucumber and bananas

Romaine and celery with blueberries

Parsley and ripe pears

Parsley, celery, apple and pears

Add 1-2 cups of water and blend until smooth. Adjust proportions to your liking. Try to experiment with different greens and fruits. Fruits are added for sweetness, so make sure they are really RIPE, especially bananas. Beautifully ripened bananas look like this:

When you are just starting out with the green smoothies, you may want to add just a little bit of mild tasting greens (such as spinach), to let your taste buds get used to the taste. Start adding more greens of various kinds (many of them are stronger tasting) later on.

Here are more ideas for your delicious green smoothie creations. Feel free to adjust the quantity of ingredients:

Here are a few sample smoothie recipes for you:

•1 head of spinach
•1 apple
•1 banana
•1-2 cups of water

•1/2 head of spinach
•1/4 cup of raspberries
•2 cups of water
•1/2 cup of strawberries

•1 small pineapple, peeled, cored, and chopped
•1 large mango, peeled, cored, and chopped
•½ head romaine lettuce
•a tiny piece of fresh ginger
You may want to add some water.

•2 leaves kale (kale is rather strong tasting, so you may want to start with less)
•2 bananas
•1 cup of strawberries or blueberries or raspberries
•1 cup of water

•5 pieces of green leaf lettuce
•1 ripe mango
•1 apple
•1 cup of water

Acne Removal Secret Weapons #4

Salads, soups, vegetable stews, steamed veggies, etc. Eat as much as these as you desire whenever you are hungry.

The goal is to fill you up, so that you don’t crave all the unhealthy stuff that causes your acne problems.

Eliminate all processed foods, all dairy, and meats (or at least limit them).

Try that for a couple of weeks and see how you feel.

I once watched a Youtube movie about Accutane – where a person is showing her results with this medicated treatment over a period of a few months.

I only have to wonder what effect would taking this kind of strong medication for such a long time have on her body.

There are many more video accounts about acne that are really painful to watch.

Why not take the time to produce something truly wonderful – a healthy skin and body – with natural foods and healthy lifestyle.

What do you think about that?

There is no denying the fact that effective acne treatment really is all about prevention. But even as you are working to get your acne under control, what do you do about blemishes that are already there?

As if having pimples on your face or in other prominent spots was not aggravating enough, there are often marks left behind in places where the pimples were. These marks can range from almost invisible pinkish spots and to brown spots to scars of all sizes. It is estimated that up to 95% of people with acne have some sort of skin scarring. Generally the longer acne lesions persist, the more likely that some degree of scarring will happen.

Scarring happens when scar tissue replaces normal skin and skin structures. Scarring is the final result of tissue deformation and healing process. Many factors can influence the type of scar that will occur and the extent of scarring, such as genetics and skin pigmentation. If you have lesions that last a long time and are picked at, they are more likely to leave a scar behind.

Unfortunately, acne scars can last a lifetime, and many people choose to have them removed using one of the methods currently available for scar removal treatments.

There are various treatments available today to improve the condition of skin with acne scarring. Over the last several years, laser technology has assumed an increasingly important role in the treatment of acne scars. Laser skin resurfacing is now one of most common procedures for treatment of acne scars.

Lasers Used in Acne Scar Treatments

Acne scar removal is most often it is performed with a carbon dioxide laser (CO2 laser), so called because the laser beam passes through a chamber with carbon dioxide gas, or with an Erbium:YAG laser, called after the crystal through which the beam passes.

The CO2 laser has revolutionized the treatments of skin resurfacing, because of its precision and ease of use. The treatment is highly effective, but it takes a long time for the skin to recover. Patients feel pain and look as if they have a bad sunburn for months.

Although each patient responds differently, dark colored skin is usually affected most severely, and the treatment often results in changes in the skin color. That is why, dark-skinned patient of Asian, African American, and Hispanic background should choose a specialist that is experienced with treating dark skin.

The Erbium laser provides much gentler treatment alternative because it produces less heat. As a result the treated area recovers more quickly and with less redness or skin discoloration. However, this also means less dramatic effect of the treatment, because there is less collagen remodeling.

To maximize benefit while limiting the pain and redness, some laser specialists use both procedures on the same patient. This minimizes the adverse side effects of CO2 laser resurfacing, while taking advantage of superior collagen remodeling capacity.

The type of treatment you choose should be the one that is best for you in terms of your type of skin, the price, what you want the treatment to accomplish, and the possibility that some types of treatment may result in more scarring if you are very susceptible to scar formation.

Before committing to treatment of acne scars, you should carefully select an experienced dermatologist and ask him/her any questions that you have about your treatment options, possible side-effects, and kind of results you can expect after the treatment.

You should have realistic expectations for the treatment. Although scar treatment will usually improve the condition and appearance of your skin, complete restoration of the skin to the way it looked before you had acne is often not possible.

Accutane is a prescription medication used to treat moderate to severe acne. Its generic name is isotretinoin; other trade names include Amnesteem, Claravis, Clarus, Isotane, Izotek, or Sotret. It is a retinoid, meaning it is a synthetic form of Vitamin A and is found in small quantities naturally in the body.

Accutane creates a potentially long-lasting change in the cells lining the pore. This change prevents pore openings from getting plugged, so oil can flow freely to the skin’s surface. It also reduces the amount of oil secreted by oil glands in the skin and helps your skin renew itself faster.

Accutane is usually used for acne only after other treatments and/or antibiotics have been tried but failed to produce successful clearing of symptoms.

What’s interesting to note the drug was first developed to be used as a chemotherapy medication for the treatment of brain cancer, pancreatic cancer and other cancers. It is still used in the treatment of these cancers because of its ability to kill rapidly dividing cells.

Accutane Side Effects

Adverse drug reactions associated with isotretinoin therapy include:
* Common: Mild acne flare, dryness of skin, lips and mucous membranes, infection of the cuticles, cheilitis, itch, rosacea, skin fragility, skin peeling, rash, flushing, nose bleeds, dry eyes, diffuse alopecia areata, eye irritation, conjunctivitis, reduced tolerance to contact lenses, hyperlipidaemia, raised liver enzymes, permanent thin skin, headaches, permanent hair thinning (This could start or continue after treatment), myalgia and/or arthralgia, back pain.

* Infrequent: severe acne flare, raised blood glucose level, increased erythrocyte sedimentation rate, fatigue.

* Rare: impaired night vision; cataracts; optic neuritis; menstrual disturbances; inflammatory bowel disease; pancreatitis; hepatitis; corneal opacities; papilloedema; idiopathic intracranial hypertension; skeletal hyperostosis; extraosseous calcification; psychosis; and it is believed that severe depression can occur, although there is no conclusive evidence for this.

The following adverse effects have been reported to persist, even after discontinuing therapy: alopecia (hair loss), arthralgias, decreased night vision, inflammatory bowel disease, degenerative disc disease, keloids, bone disease. High dosages of isotretinoin have been reported to cause rosacea (a disease of severe facial skin redness and irritation).

Accutane and Pregnancy

* For your baby’s sake, you must NEVER, EVER take Accutane when you are pregnant.

* Accutane can cause severe, life-threatening birth defects if the woman takes the medication during pregnancy. A single dose of Accutane can lead to defects of the baby’s eyes, ears, skull, heart, and brain. It can also lead to miscarriage, premature birth, or even death of the baby.

* Fertile women of childbearing age who take Accutane must not be pregnant or become pregnant during treatment or for three months after discontinuing treatment.

* Prior to starting the treatment any woman of child-bearing age must agree in writing to take two forms of birth control and take pregnancy tests prior to, during and following the treatment.

Accutane Treatment

Accutane has been in use for acne treatment since 1984, and for many people suffering from severe and persistent nodular acne – it certainly is a miracle drug they have been praying for. The treatment lasts 5 to 6 months, and the dose of the medication is adjusted according to patient’s weight. Most patients need just one course of treatment to see improvement in their condition. Only about thirty percent will need a second course, and about ten percent will fail to respond.

Accutane in the US is available only under a special program called iPLEDGE. To take the medicine, you need to register in the program and sign the release forms and consent to the terms. Patients are required to take blood tests during the course of treatment to make sure the side effects are kept under control.

Natural Alternatives to Accutane

Even though Accutane can sometimes produce truly spectacular results, if you have read this far you now obviously realize that it is not an ideal treatment to free your body from acne.

As most conventional treatments, Accutane only addresses the symptoms of the condition, not the internal cause. Everybody who has severe acne, or even suffers a sporadic breakout every now and then, should know that getting rid of it should be a multilayered task. You should treat the entire body and target the true causes of the problem and not just symptoms. This is of course often a very difficult task…

If your baby suffers from baby eczema, then you should know that eczema is one of the most common skin conditions in infants, toddlers and small children. It can affect children of any age, starting with newborns. In the majority of cases the eczema is mild, but there are children who suffer from symptoms so severe, that parents feel heartbroken just by looking at their precious baby’s skin.

It can be truly devastating for parents to see their child with itchy, red splotches all over the body… head, face, legs, back, arms…everywhere.

When parents consult their pediatrician, they are often given prescriptions for various creams, lotions, oils, baths, even the steroid hydro-cortisone creams! These medications may provide some relief, but the important thing to keep in mid is that they only really treats the symptoms without getting to the reason of the problem.

The thing that you should be trying first and foremost is elimination diet for you (if you are breastfeeding) and/or your baby. You may be able to help your baby by making a simple change, such as eliminating diary, soy, nuts, wheat, gluten and eggs.
There are many stories that you can find on the internet about successful treating of eczema with elimination diet, and here is one of them.

Treating eczema in babies and toddlers: Lessons learned

As I said I was never allergic to anything, and I never gave much thought to what causes allergies and how they are cured – but this case of my son’s eczema taught me a powerful lesson how our diet can have a profound effect on our health.

It also taught me that sometimes the simplest answer is the right answer, and that I cannot trust my instincts 100%. Because I dismissed the fact that my son may be allergic to milk, I was looking for some obscure culprits – ingredients in detergents, creams, etc.

For me the solution turned out to be very simple. If your baby or toddler suffers from eczema I urge you to look at your child’s diet or – if you are breastfeeding – at your own diet FIRST.

Since then I educated myself about the allergies and diet, and although I cannot always stick to healthy choices, at least I’m trying to move in that direction.

Later on, I also discovered the importance of fresh RAW fruits and vegetables and juicing in our diet. (See also my hub about juicing and my best juicer recipes website). If I could do it all over again – the first foods that I would introduce to my son would be fresh sweet fruits eaten RAW – and not the processed cereals and fruits found in boxes and jars on the supermarket shelves.
